A teenager has died after she was struck by a car on a major road.
Police shut the A12 after a vehicle hit a pedestrian near the Colchester United stadium on Tuesday evening.
Specialist officers have been supporting the family of the woman, who was in her "late teens", after she died at the scene at 19:00 BST, Essex Police said.
"As part of our investigation, we need anyone who witnessed the collision or anyone with dashcam footage to come forward," a spokesman added.
